Carol is an award-winning teacher who taught secondary English for 33 years in the Niskayuna Central School District in upstate NY. She is a Google Certified Teacher, Google Apps For Education Certified Trainer, Google Apps For Education Regional Leader-Eastern States, Smithsonian Laureate, Apple Distinguished Educator, a WNYT Educator of Excellence, and was nominated for Disney’s American Teacher Award. She presents at national and statewide conferences and is often a featured speaker. Carol presented in the Google Teaching Booth at ISTE in 2009 and 2011. She has presented at national conferences such as ISTE, NECC, NCERT, and BLC and has been a featured speaker at statewide conferences such as the MassCUE Technology Leadership Symposium, MassCUE, CECA, CASL, NYTalks, NYSCATE, NYSUT/SED, SAANYS, NYLA, SLMSSENY, and others. She has also presented for the South Carolina Google Summit, NYSSBA, NYSCOSS, NYSMSA, NYSEC, NYSACE, LYC, SLMS, VITA Learn, STANYS, NYSCSS, the NYS Legislature, and various BOCES throughout NY State.

As a Google Apps For Education Regional Leader, she assists school districts as they deploy Google Apps. She also co-hosts the “Google Apps For Education K-12, Eastern States User Group.” She created Google Historical Voyages and Events, a global Google project for teachers and students around the World, which has had over 34,000 visitors. She is one of the authors of Google Lit Trips, which uses Google Earth to teach literature. As a master teacher of technology for the NY Wired, she was responsible for training and mentoring teams of teachers.

Carol has written curriculum for Google, ADOBE, and Apple Computer and was chosen from educators across the country to teach at the Apple Teacher Institutes. She is one of the authors of the 21st Century Learning Collection. She has written lessons that incorporate Google tools, which are published in Google Apps For Educators, for educators to reference and use.

Carol has been integrating technology in her classroom for over 20 years. She now travels to different states offering keynote address and professional development for school districts, conferences, BOCES, administrators, and library associations. She trains educators on using Google Apps For Education and Google tools.

Her main focus is the integration of technology into the curriculum. She helps educators meet the Learning Standards while combining emerging technologies with course content. Carol’s keynote presentations give an overview of the ways teachers and students are using technology to address the changing paradigm. Her trainings offer instruction on teaching with the Internet, leveraging WEB 2.0 techniques, using Google Apps For Education, integrating Google tools, designing personal learning environments, learning about computers, and addressing the needs of diverse learners.
